Romanian dessert


One of the most delicious romanian dessert is called "papanaşi" and from now, you can cook them yourself.



Ingredients:


250 grams of cow cheese well drained of whey

230-250 grams flour

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 package of vanilla sugar (I put brown vanilla sugar, with natural vanilla)

2 whole eggs



Steps:


1. In a bowl put the cheese, add the salt, vanilla sugar and cinnamon. Add a teaspoon of baking powder.


2. Chop everything with a fork and mix, then add the two eggs.


3. Mix the eggs and cheese, add the flour and start mixing with a spoon, then knead. It is only kneaded until it is homogenized, there is no need.


4. The dough is divided into 5 pieces, for "papanaşi", and 5 smaller pieces for the well-known lid.


5. The small pieces are shaped like a ball, the big ones are rounded, twisted and with the help of the fingers a hole is formed in the middle that slightly widens, allowing the "papanaşi" to cook well inside during the frying.


6. Fry the "papanaşi" in a row until they are nicely browned.


7. Remove "papanaşi" on absorbent paper, removing excess oil.


8. Serve the "papanaşi" warm, drowned in sour cream and garnished with jam (blueberry is my favorite one).
